Frequently Asked Questions

Who is responsible for the tuition fee?

From January 1st 2012 trainees will be employed at a Dutch development organisation. Trainees work four days a week for a compensation consisting of the minimum wage (0.8 x € 1,435,20  gross per month). The organisation does not give a job guarantee. The organisation agrees to pay the programme’s tuition fee and the trainee’s commuting expenses (including on course days). The trainee pays for all other expenses such as health insurance, accommodation and living costs. Please note that CIDIN does not provide scholarships, bursaries or any other form of financial support.

Am I eligible if I am not graduated yet?

To be eligible for the AMID programme you should meet a number of criteria. One of them is to be graduated as an applicant.  If you expect to graduate before 31th of october 2011, you can apply for the programme.

During the start of the programme I will still be Abroad. Can I apply?

The programme starts on 1 January 2012. It is compulsory to be present at its start. If you are still abroad at that time, you will not be allowed to participate.

I will be unable to attend the information meeting. What to do?

Candidates who go to the 1st selection round and are eligible for an interview with the selection committee will be invited to this meeting.  During the meeting you will be given more information about the programme and will have the opportunity to ask questions. Later in the procedure, for instance during the interview, you will not have this opportunity. This information meeting is compulsory. In case you are invited and you are unable to attend the information meeting, you will not be able to apply for the programme.

I am invited to an interview, but I am staying abroad. What to do?

The interviews with the selection committee are taking place in September to October. If you are invited to an interview, but you are staying abroad in that period, you should let us know as soon as possible via cidin@verwijder-dit.pponline.nl of 024 - 324 54 55.

If you are invited to an interview with an organisation in November, and you are then staying abroad, you should let us know as soon as possible.

In both cases you run the risk of not being selected because of your being abroad.

I am a foreign applicant. Can I apply?

Foreign students cannot apply via the selection procedure as mentioned above. This is due to the fact that, at this stage, it is not clear if there will be vacancies in development organisations for non-native Dutch speakers and that the selection procedure is too short to be able to organise a work and residence permit. Once we know if there are vacancies available, CIDIN selects foreign trainees that are proposed by partner organisations.
